Team CoMantra summaries the reasons for your Computer being slow

Team CoMantra summaries the following reasons that can be attributed for the computer responding slowly to the various commands or the clicks of the mouse:

Scarce hard drive space: As on date, on an average the hard disk space on a computer used for personal use is about 500 to 1000 GB. Since the computer is mainly handled by a single user and is generally not serviced at regular intervals, over the time the computer becomes slower and slower because a lot of space is consumed by the unwanted downloads from the internet which are often not required and by default get downloaded on to the hard disk. Over a period of time as these files keep accumulating they keep occupying a considerable space in the hard disk ultimately making the computer slower and slower. CoMantra opines that timely cleanup of such files from the hard drive makes the PC more active and fast.

Left over program and bad files: These are programs and files that are automatically downloaded from the internet without the user’s knowledge. When a user uninstalls a program (which is no longer required) then many files are left out after unistallation. Due diligence should be taken to remove such files as these ultimately reduce the computers processing speed.

Data Corruption: This refers to the errands in computer data that appear during writing, reading, storing, transmitting or processing that bring about changes to the original data. In general, when data corruption occurs, the file containing that data might become inaccessible, and the system or the related application will start giving an error message. For example, if a MS Word file is corrupted, when one try’s to open that file with MS Word, one would get an error message, and the file would not be opened. Some programs can give a suggestion to repair the file automatically (after the error), and some programs cannot repair it. It depends on the level of corruption, and the in-built functionality of the application to handle the error so suggests that if these data corruptions are not rectified on time then they become the primary reason for computer slowdown.

Missing Windows updates or outdated drivers: A situation which is faced by many computer users is – the computer being plagued by out of date Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 drivers. Even if a person had just one driver problem it is frustrating to search online. One can never assume which one to trust and which one not to. If malware are spyware infects the system when one try’s to update windows driver, the Windows OS could suffer from severe damages. To avoid the outdated drivers problem periodic scans should be done so that these scans can figure out which are the outdated drivers so that the same can be updated. CoMantra adjudicates: When the drivers are updated, Windows show increased speed, performance, stability and new features.

Computer Overheated : Team ‘CoMantra’ after doing some research has found out that If one’s computer becomes too hot, it is possible to destroy and shorten the lifespan of the hardware inside the computer, leading to irreparable damage and potential data loss. Besides irreparable data lose, heat severely damages the computer’s internal organs the motherboard, CPU, and more significantly shortens the lifespan. Besides the most obvious reason to keep the computer cool, a hot computer will also run slower than a cooler computer. So to prevent the computer from slowing down, one has to make sure that it is running at a moderate or low temperature. Keeping the computer dust free and keeping it away from hot neighbors.

Corrupt Operating System: Common causes of data corruption are power outages, improper shutdowns, hardware problems or failures including hard drive failures, bad sectors, bad RAM failure to eject external hard drives and related storage devices before disconnecting them or powering them off and last but not the least bad programming. A corrupted OS is a bane for the computer and in the long run significantly slows down the computer.

CoMantra eludes that in order to avoid OS corruption; regular maintenance should be done for the same.UPS should be used and before turning of the external devices should be ejected first. All these steps would lead to a healthier and faster computer system.
